Throwing out leftovers bothers me. Invariably I toss leftovers that come to my house in Styrofoam containers because what appeals to me one day rarely appeals to me in the next two or three. I'm notorious about leaving leftovers to rot in my fridge. Ian tires of throwing them out, so I rarely bother bringing them home anymore.
When I can recycle, surely there's a more specific term in this case, I do. Used the broth, as well as green beans and potatoes, along with the leftover ear of corn that Ian left for me, threw it together with water, some chopped asparagus, dried shitake mushrooms, and about eight organic golden potatoes. Cooked it for twenty or thirty minutes, and I was all set. Added a bit of nutmeg. Seems all I read anymore is how often recipes use nutmeg these days, so I wanted to try, too. Didn't add enough in the end to tell, but the cayenne pepper, a staple of my spice cabinet, made my nose run a bit. Good thing I had a kitchen towel handy.
